The light receives a signal from a satellite which triggers the flash sequence so enabling a whole series of lights to commence their flash sequence at the same time
Carmanah Technologies Inc. is a manufacturer of commercial quality, solar-powered LED (light emitting diode) lighting products suited for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including marine navigation and hazard marking.. They were the first solar-powered lanterns using LEDs to be used in the U.S. Navigational Aid System. Models 701-GPS and 702-GPS are the only fully-integrated, three (3) nautical mile marine lights that can be Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) synchronized. Using an integrated GPS receiver, any number of 700 Series GPS lights can now be set to flash in perfect unison. For years, the 700 series lights have been used to mark navigation buoys, port and harbour entrances and breakwaters. The “GPS” series now offers the added capability of synchronizing lights in these and other applications, all using the same compact, self-contained, no-maintenance design.

Flexible, Cost-Effective Lighting Wherever You Need It!
The FP-50 is ideal for all general lighting applications, including area floodlighting, perimeter lighting, security lighting and sign lighting. The FP-50 provides reliable, high performance lighting wherever it is required - quickly and without the costs associated with connecting to a grid-based power supply.
FEATURES
| Automatic nightly operation - turns on automatically at dusk and off at dawn1 | |
| Integrated design - electronics, energy management system, batteries and solar module are self-contained | |
| LED luminaire - shockproof, vibration-proof, watertight and maintenance free for up to 100,000 hours | |
| Simple non-technical installation - the solar engine can be installed quickly onto the roof of an existing shelter or other structure. External luminaire(s) ensure maximum flexibility for lighting options | |
| Operate up to three luminaires - each FP-50 can drive up to three LED-based luminaires at the same time. | |
| Patented MICROSOURCE® intelligence - the system automatically adjusts output and charging performance based on installation location and prevailing weather conditions. |
Sophisticated, Maintenance-Free Performance
The FP-50 is configured to automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. Using Carmanah's patented MICROSOURCE® Energy Management System (EMS), the FP-50 automatically adjusts its performance to ensure year-round reliability under nearly all types of weather and environmental conditions. For output, the FP-50 uses LED-based luminaires; these fixtures are shock-proof, vibration-proof, watertight and designed to operate for up to 100,000 hours (more than 20 years of daily operation) before replacement.
Field-Proven Reliability
Carmanah's patented MICROSOURCE® EMS was developed and refined over 8 years. More than 200,000 Carmanah solar LED lighting installations worldwide now use the MICROSOURCE® EMS to ensure reliable operation. Key MICROSOURCE® features include:
| Automatic Light Control - enables the FP-50 to intelligently adapt to the solar environment where it is installed, greatly extending system performance and reliability while reducing component size and cost. | |
| Intelligent Power Management - specialized temperature-compensated charging software and electronics optimize the battery charge levels for the FP-50 over the course of each day, depending on the available solar power; this is extremely effective at maximizing product performance capabilities and reliability while extending the battery operating life. | |
| Independent Light Output - as the FP-50's battery system discharges over the course of the night, low voltage LED driver electronics ensure that the LED luminaire receives a constant drive level. |
