NAUTILUS MARINE SERVICE GmbH was founded in 1986; the company is registered in Bremen, Germany. NAUTILUS is subsidiary company of
RF Forschungsschiffahrt Gmbh, BremenVITROVEX® glass floatation spheres and instrument housings

Glass has properties which make it perfectly destined for deep-sea use. It’s
corrosion resistance, it’s lightness, it’s chemical, electrical and magnetic
inertness and it’s optical qualities add up to a valuable combination.
VITROVEX® is a 3.3 borosilicate glass with standardised physical, chemical,
electrical and optical properties, also well known as DURAN®. Its very low
potassium content (<0.5%) results in low K40 content.
It is moulded into spheres and thick wall tubes by means of intricate processing
and thermal post-treatments.
Country of origin and manufacture is Germany. VITROVEX® is made by the well
experienced JENAer Glaswerk, Jena, a member of the SCHOTT-group..
